This position is located in the Bureau of Administration, Office of Facilities Management Services (A/FMS) in Denver, Colorado.
The incumbent is responsible for building operations and maintenance of a data center. Functions include control of HVAC and emergency power supply systems, specifications development and evaluation of contractor proposals and bids, energy conservation, handling of hazardous material, recycling and environmental protection, custodial services, service call management, event planning, liaison with tenants, security, snow removal, direction of alterations and construction, equipment and structural repairs, inspection and quality assurance.


As a Mechanical Engineer you will:
-Utilize various automated heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) controls and the emergency power management system to operate the facility in an efficient and reliable manner.
-Utilize a computer maintenance program to establish/manage a proper maintenance management program. Common maintenance strategies that may be employed include, but not limited to: preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance.
-Develop requirements, writes statements of work, reviews proposal, participates in source selection proceeding, ensures that contract requirements are met, and monitors the work of contractors.
-Review engineering plans and specifications for intent and adequacy, and recommends changes; provide solutions to maintenance, repair and operational problems.
