JOB SUMMARY:

The FMWRC mission is to create and maintain "FIRST CHOICE" MWR products and services for America's Army, essential to a ready, self-reliant force.

This position is located at the Courses of Clear Creek.

Serves as working leader of three or more employees in accomplishing trades and labor work.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:
Supervisor issues instructions on work sequences, procedures, methods, and deadlines, and relies on the incumbent to assure that other members of the group carry out work assignments. Supervisor is available to provide information or decisions regarding problems that may arise during work. Overall work operations are reviewed for status and progress, causes of delays, quality, and results achieved.

MAJOR DUTIES:
Serves as working leader of three or more employees in accomplishing trades and labor work. The highest level of non-supervisory work led is Food & Beverage Attendant, NA-7401-03.

1. Leads the work of Food and Beverage attendants in the preparation of fast food. Works with other members of the shift, setting pace, demonstrating proper work methods, conducting on-the-job training, and communicating work assignments to the workers being lead. Checks work in progress. Ensures that safety, security, and good housekeeping rules are followed. Insures that needed supplies and materials are available. Answers workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, and instructions. Provides information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall operations.

2. Collects sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons, and makes change as necessary. Maintains related cash records. Keeps work area clean and orderly.

3. Bakes various items, sets up coffee makers and brews various coffees, i.e., espresso. Sets up counters and display cases with condiments and baked goods. Prepares specialty hot and cold drinks, serves customers. Assures that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned. Coordinates food and beverage needs for special events conducted at off-premise locations.

4. Sets up food service counters and steam tables with hot and cold food and beverage. Prepares fruit and vegetable salads, portions out food. Checks food during cooking to prevent overcooking. Prepares sandwiches and box lunches. Unloads trucks and places contents in proper storage and use areas. Cleans floors, walls and windows in kitchen, dining and storage areas.


Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to lead others in a team effort. Knowledge of sanitary food handling and serving techniques. Math ability to compute checks and make change. Ability to read and understand written material. Ability to apportion, weigh, and measure foods properly and to use appliances, coffee makers, ovens, stoves and other common kitchen equipment and utensils. Ability to operate a cash register.

RESPONSIBILITY:
Works under the general supervision in accomplishing tasks. Routine duties are performed independently with the supervisor available for assistance on unusual problems or situations. Incumbent is expected to complete assignments as scheduled. Judgment is required in maintaining standards of sanitation, safety, and service. Plans work by reviewing daily schedules and determining sequences steps, procedures, and techniques to be followed in accomplishing the work. Work is subject to spot check inspection for adequacy and compliance with instructions. Responsible to identify and report obvious hazards, malfunctioning equipment, and any other situations that may affect work preparations. Responsible for cash receipts and complying with accountability procedures. Assist and leads other employees as required.

PHYSICAL EFFORTS:
Stands and walks for long periods. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 45 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures. Exposed to cuts, burns, and danger of slipping on wet floors.

Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade.
1. Ability to lead other employees.
2. Work practices (keeping things neat, clean, and in order).
3. Technical practices (basic food preparation and handling techniques).
4. Possess basic math skills necessary to compute patron bills and make change.
5. Able to communicate effectively in English
6. Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
7. Knowledge of materials and basic sanitation principles.
8. Ability to use and maintains appliances, coffee makers, ovens, stoves and other common kitchen equipment and utensils.
