The Psychologist is expected to perform duties under supervision of the Supervisory Psychologist in Compensation and Pension (C&P) and provide assigned psychological services at C&P clinic located at the main VA hospital building on Zorn Avenue. At the full performance level, GS-13 , the psychologist has a doctoral degree from an APA-Approved program and an APA-internship in psychology, and is either licensed at the independent practice level, or is license eligible and will obtain the license within 2 years of hire. At least 2 years post doctoral experience in the area of general psychological practice and in psychological assessment and evaluation is required at the full performance level, GS-13. The Psychologist is expected to have specific training and expertise in the area of assessment, evaluation, and mental health diagnosis. Specific experience in the area of disability evaluation or work with disabled veterans is desirable. The Psychologist will adhere to service standards regarding matters of timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with procedures and quantity of work produced.
This position does not involve direct patient care activities using psychotherapy, although experience in doing psychotherapy will aid you in managing any behavioral problems that arise during, or as part of, the evaluation process.
