This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Cadet Division, Waterfront Branch, New London, CT.

Duties

You will serve along with other support personnel and provide maintenance services on a variety of sailing and power driven vessels ranging from 14 to 65 feet.

 

 Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.  Typical work assignments include:

- Maintains fiberglass hulls and decks on a variety of sailboats and motorboats to include buffing, sanding,polishing, waxing and painting.

- Repairs damage to fiberglass hulls and decks.

- Prepares spars and rigging for use, tune and adjust rigs for racing.

- Maintains and repairs running and standing rigging to include lines, blocks and hardware.

- Maintain and repair deck hardware including winches, cleats, stoppers, blocks, tracks and cars.

- Installs equipment on boats.
