This position is in the Structural Acoustics Branch of the NASA Langley Research Center. As a research team member, plans and conducts research in the area of structural acoustics with emphasis on aerospace vehicles including rotorcraft, propeller and jet aircraft as well as space launch vehicles. Specifically the position requires analytical and experimental studies of vibro-acoustical phenomena including source descriptions, radiation and propagation characteristics, and determination of structural and acoustic response.
This is a Term appointment not to exceed 4 years, may be extended up to an additional 2 years for a total of 6 years. Under the NASA Flexibility Act of 2004, individuals appointed under this announcement may be converted to permanent appointment, either non-competitively or through internal agency competitive procedures.
The full performance level of this position is to the GS-13 level. Position may be filled at either the GS-11, 12 or 13 level, and selectee may be noncompetitively promoted to the GS-12 or 13 when qualified and recommended by management.
