NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:  This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the New York Air National Guard.  Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.  Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. 

 

 

This position is located in the Civil Engineering Operations Section of an ANG Civil Engineering Squadron or Flight (RED HORSE).

Duties

The primary purpose for the position is to perform duties associated with the maintenance and repair of electrical power production equipment and ancillary components, interior and exterior electrical power distribution systems, airfield lighting systems, and aircraft arresting systems. Provides training to Air Force and ANG personnel on installation of expeditionary or semi-permanent aircraft arresting barriers. The incumbent is a sole worker and considered the sole source of technical advice in the area of responsibility.
