Colorado National Guard Dual Status Technician Announcement Technicians are employed under the authority of Title 32 USC, Section 709, which states, in part, that technicians are to be employed in "the administration and training of the National Guard," and "the maintenance and repair of supplies issued to the National Guard."

This position is located in the Component Repair Shop of an Amy Aviation Support Facility (AASF).  The purpose of this position is to perform sheet metal maintenance on aircraft and components.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Membership in the Colorado National Guard
  • Must hold the grade of E-3 to E-7
  • Restricted Military MOS 15G
  • Participation in Direct Deposit is mandatory

Major Duties:

Inspects and troubleshoots aircraft structures such as fuselage, tail, wings, cowlings and stabilizers.  Repairs cracks in aircraft skin.  May paint, strip or stencil aircraft and/or components.  Participates in the safety program for the sheet metal function.  May paint, strip or stencil aircraft and/or components.  Participates in the safety program for the sheet metal function.  May assist authorized firefighters in the performance of fire/crash/rescue duties as required.  Determines the nature and
extent of repairs to be made using applicable Technical Manuals (TMs) as guidelines.  Removes, fabricates, repairs, modifies, and installs parts and assemblies, such as frames, stringers, longerons, bulkheads, beams, ribs, spars, skin, cowling, brackets, fairing, stressed and double contour skins using hand or powered tools and a variety of metal working equipment.
Fits and trims components to aircraft such as loading gear doors, ailerons, flaps, engine access doors and similar assemblies. Performs fabrication of local manufactured items requred for facility support. Work,includes layout, bending, cutting, forming and assembling.  Performs other duties assigned.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE NOTE Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.  An applicants RESUME must provide in detail how they meet each specialized experience bullet listed below.  It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates  and description of the specialized experience.  DO NOT copy each bullet listed below word for word and place into your resume; you must describe your personal experience as it pertains to each bullet.  You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include this information in your resume (we will not make any assumptions regarding your experience).

Must have 18 months of specialized experience in EACH of the following (Clearly documented in your resume):

1.   Experience using more complicated shop tools and equipment.

2.   Experience in using metals including stainless steel, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb material and alloys.

3.   Experience demonstrating the use of more complicated mathematical calculations and complicated measuring instruments.
