The Surgical Service is recruiting for one (1) full-time Nurse Practitioner to support the Pre-Admission Testing Clinic (PATC) section. The tour of duty will be:  Monday through Friday - 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (tour is flexible upon applicant's employment and service needs)

Incumbent will be working in the Pre-Admission Testing Clinic (PATC), office, and clinic of surgical service. She/he assesses the physical, emotional and developmental status of patients and makes positive interventions to maintain, restore or improve health. The NP responsibilities include the evaluation and treatment of the adult and elderly patient. The assessment and treatment of this patient population take into consideration the patient's needs as they relate to physical limitation, unique physiology, and age related illnesses. The incumbent develops, monitors and alters a comprehensive health care treatment program by formulating a comprehensive data base including physical and psychosocial health history, physical examination, and evaluation of laboratory diagnostic testing, discriminating between normal and abnormal findings in planning treatment intervention therapies and collaborating with the supervisory/attending physician regarding abnormal findings. The incumbent initiates and adjusts selected medications, facilitates the ordering of diagnostic tests, i.e., lab work, x-rays, EKGs, consults, and similar studies; documenting in the medical record all procedures performed. The incumbent participates in interdisciplinary team conferences to assure the quality patient care management. The incumbent will also be responsible for performing pre-operative histories and physical examinations for the Podiatry section of Surgical Service, as well as other sections, as needed.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
