US Army Veterinary Services operates as a subsidiary of Public Health Command. Their mission is to provide military veterinary services in support of United States Army Medical Command and Department of Defense missions. The civilian function of the Veterinary Services is a supplemental mission which exists to assist soldiers and their families in the field of animal health and care.
This is a Flexible position at the Ft. Hood Veterinary Treatment Facility (VTF). We are looking for a friendly, hard working, team oriented individual that is willing to serve clients and learn about Veterinary Medicine. The job will include: preparing medical charts, checking in patients, taking vital signs, discussing pet health care topics with owners, administering medicines and vaccines, writing in patient medical charts, cleaning and organizing supplies, monitoring patients during anesthesia/surgery, performing dental cleanings, holding animals for procedures, taking x-rays, obtaining patient blood/urine/fecal samples, performing in-house diagnostic tests, conducting supply inventory counts.
Employees in Flexible positions can be scheduled between 00 to 39 hours per week depending on management.
