Pay Range GS-11: $58,454 - $75,987.

This is a public notice and may be used to fill anticipated permanent, temporary or term vacancies with a full-time or part-time work schedule at various locations serviced by Wright Patterson AFB OH as vacancies occur during the open period. Term and Temporary appointments may be extended without further announcement.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Serve as a pharmacist in an ambulatory or in-patient care setting on an Air Force installation, performing the professional duties which include clinical, consultative, educational, oversight and administrative responsibilities
  • Work involves daily interaction with and education of professional staff, technicians and patients regarding pharmaceutical care and potential and actual drug-related problems
  • Implements and coordinates pharmaceutical care services and programs to ensure patient medication counseling, drug regimen reviews and related activities are carried out in compliance with professional standards, reviews and related activities are carried out in compliance with professional standards

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09) or equivalent.  (Experience does not have to be in the federal service.)  Specialized experience must include experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization and as described in the MAJOR DUTIES section.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT/OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS:

 

1.  Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education 
2.  Must be licensed and in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy to practice pharmacy in a state or territory of the U.S. or District of Columbia
3.  Maintains professional knowledge by attending education workshops and reading pharmaceutical publications
4.  Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
5.  This position may be a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.  Incumbent of this position may be subject to the possibility of a random drug test
6.  Must be able to distinguish basic colors

7.  Must be able to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
