The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-13. The actual grade at which an applicant may be selected for this vacancy is GS-11 through GS-13. [Please note: the MHCC Service is highly interested in applicants who meet the basic requirements and specialized experience for this position at the GS-13 level]. The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will review the selected candidates qualifications and recommend the grade and step at which the candidate will be placed. The salary is based on the grade and step approved for the selected candidate.
TOUR OF DUTY: This is a part-time position; 6 hours per week/ 0.15 FTEE, as needed for Psychology Internship Consortium activities and consultation.
PRIMARY DUTY LOCATION: Baltimore VA Medical Center. Some travel may be required at times, as needed.

This position is assigned to the Mental Health Clinical Center (MHCC), VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) and serves as part-time (0.15 FTEE) Psychology Consortium Consultant Psychologist, at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. This position primarily provides consultation to the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) - University of Maryland-Baltimore (UMB) Psychology Internship Consortium training tracks in adult clinical, child clinical, and school psychology. The incumbent will serve as the liaison between university and VA training programs in this APA-accredited internship consortium. S/he must have unique knowledge of essential staff, policies and procedures for university clinics with respect to recruitment, hiring of new employees and training that is necessary to the consortium. The incumbent is required to have specialized training in child and family-based research and clinical interventions that benefit the VA through mentorship, research and collaboration in training programs.
The incumbent will recruit, interview, train interns and provide leadership to the VAMHCS/UMB Psychology Internship Consortium for the psychology internship program for the University. The incumbent will serve as the primary liaison between the Consortium and the University of Maryland faculty, staff, and programs. S/he will serve on the Training Committee as Assistant Director of Training of the Consortium and will assist the Director of Psychology Training with the Accreditation process for the Consortium. The incumbent may perform other duties as requested or assigned.
