You will:

Serve as a Senior Resident Engineer responsible for the management of major on-site construction of VA facilities within the Office of Construction & Facilities Management (CFM), Service Delivery Office. Manage a staff of varying disciplines particularly in the areas of mechanical, electrical engineering and plumbing, in the design and administration of construction projects for highly specialized medical facilities, nursing homes, energy centers, cemeteries, and administrative facilities.

·    Lead a staff comprised of a matrix of engineers and architectural specialties responsible for review of construction documents and specifications for compliance with VA criteria, standards, and Federal and local building codes.

·    Monitor various ongoing construction activities and schedule conformance with phasing, contract provisions, and contract specifications.

·    Coordinate and oversee various civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural aspects of major construction activities.

·    Conduct reviews of contractor's cost breakdown and review submittals on contractor's proposed equipment and materials.

·    Monitor customer satisfaction through informal and formal means to include meeting with the Director regarding construction progress.
