BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT- Must possess successful completion of all requirements for a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in an appropriate social or biological science which included or was supplemented by 12 semester hours in psychology. You must submit official transcripts (unofficial transcripts accepted). Copies of Certificates/Degrees are not sufficient to meet the Basic Education Requirements. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)
Specialized Experience Requirement: In addition to meeting the basic education requirement, you must also possess specialized experience as indicated below.
Specialized Experience: In addition to the Basic Educational requirement, you also must possess two (2) years of technical work under the direction of a professional psychologist (under the direction of a professional psychologist is required and MUST BE documented on your application/resume) in a program of professional services, training or research. At least 6 months of experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade in the Federal service (GS-8) or 1 year comparable to the second lower grade (GS-7). These duties may include one or more of the following: (1) assisting in research as in systematic collection of psychology research data, recording and collecting of data, preparing tabular or graphic presentation of data; (2) assisting counseling psychologist in contacting potential employers for purpose of making vocational placement, providing follow-up consultation, administering and scoring of interest, achievement and aptitude tests, securing work history and other relevant vocational information; (3) assisting neuropsychologist in administering and scoring of selected tests; (4) assisting psychologists in completing behavior rating scales or in conducting behavior modification. Specialized Experience specific to this position is: administers and interprets various standardized psychological tests used for the diagnosis and treatment of patients such as group and individual intelligence tests, academic or achievement tests, etc.; schedules, receives and prepares patients for psychological and neuropsychological assessment. (This experience should be clearly documented in your Resume). NOTE: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Must possess two full years of graduate study in psychology in an accredited college or university. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

Physical Demands & Work Environment: The work is primarily sedentary and conducted in an office setting. Typically you will sit comfortably to do the work. There may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
Applicants will be ranked based on four quality groups, as follows:
- Best qualified - applicants possessing experience that substantially exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are highly proficient in all requirements of the job and can perform effectively in the position;
- Highly qualified - applicants possessing experience that exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in most of the requirements of the job;
- Well qualified - applicants possessing experience that meets the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in some, but not all, of the requirements of the job; and
- Qualified - applicants possessing experience and/or education that meets the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors.
After the vacancy announcement closes, reviewed applications are evaluated against the questionnaire responses and placed in the appropriate quality group. Qualified veterans will be afforded preference by being placed at the top of the appropriate quality group. Qualifying veterans with a service-connected disability of 10% or more will be placed at the top of the best qualified group.
