Duties include; Clinical functions such as signing out surgical pathology specimens, performing frozen section from operating room, supervising and singing out autopsies with pathology residents. Interpreting protein electrophoresis, overseeing clinical chemistry and blood bank and coordinating anatomic pathology proficiency and Quality Assurance techniques.

Other duties include taking care of administrative duties as a member of several boards and committees and working with pathology residents in autopsy and teaching house-staff and medical students on pathology rotation.

Developing a strong affiliation with our academic partner, the University of Utah. Need to build an academically oriented service including both education and research.

Basic Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens)
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Must be board certified or eligible
Preferred Experience

For the Chief Grade,

Meet the requirements for senior grade plus attainment of additional recognition in clinical, administrative or research areas.

•Certification by an American Specialty Board-(PATHOLOGY)or

•Significant accomplishments.

•Past or present faculty appointment,officer in State or National professional medical organization or

•Director of a hospital or large clinic.
