Join HHS/FDA/Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) and help make our world healthier, safer, and better for all Americans.  CTP is the newest arm of the FDA.  CTP is the principal Federal agency charged to establish tobacco regulations in order to decrease the tremendous toll of diseases, disability and death caused by tobacco use in the United States.

If selected for this position, you will:

 

• Provide consultative services and advice on a variety of matters involving the Center's training, educational, professional and staff development programs.

• Design, develop and coordinate training and curriculum development activities with other federal, state, public and private organizations and the local public.

• Assess the quality and usefulness of current training activities and materials and update, oversee and coordinate revisions to training materials and formats for courses.

• Assess additional training needs and develop new training courses, modules and seminars.

• Develop procedures, criteria and standards for use in evaluating the training and educational programs and conduct surveys to evaluate program effectiveness in relation to the needs of the office.

• Serve as an advisor to management and staff in the planning, development, presentation and evaluation of complex training and education programs.

GS-13: 

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service.  Specialized experience is experience that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the applicant with the particular, knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, to include experience serving as an advisor in the planning, development, presentation, and evaluation of complex education and training programs.

 

Documenting experience:  In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description.  Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an SF-50 or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment. The documentation must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the percentage of times the other duties were performed. It is expected that this documentation is included in the employee's official personnel record.
