If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing administrative services to the employees of the United States Attorney's Office, District of Minnesota.  Typical work assignments will include:

  • Providing guidance on the management and use of the District's financial, manpower and physical resources, administrative policies, practices and procedures.
  • Planning, evaluating, directing and coordinating administrative services for the agency.
  • Acting as the District's primary financial manager and responsibility for budget formulation and execution.
  • Developing personnel programs and directly managing a comprehensive personnel program.
  • Planning and providing for all management services and office support functions in the office.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Travel Required: 1-2 weeks per year

GS-14:
All applicants must possess at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to GS-13 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that provided the applicant with the ability to manage administrative programs, e.g., budget and finance administration; human resources administration; information management; and/or contracting/acquisition.

GS-15:

All applicants must possess at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that provided the applicant with the ability to manage, though subordinate supervisors, administrative programs, e.g., budget and finance administration; human resources administration; information management; and/or contracting/acquisition.

Selective Placement Factor: A selective placement factor is determined to be essential for successful performance in this position. Those candidates who do not meet the following selective placement factor will be rated "not qualified" for the position.

GS-14:
Ability to manage two or more administrative program areas (HR, financial management, information technology/telecommunications, facilities management, acquisitions, and/or contract negotiation/administration) at the federal, state, or local level, or in the private sector; AND one of the two administrative areas must have been:
•A Human Resources (HR) program that delivers the full range of HR services (e.g., staffing, classification, employee benefits, pay administration, performance management), OR
•A Financial Management program that includes budget, accounting, or auditing operations.

GS-15:

Ability to manage three or more administrative program areas (HR, financial management, information technology/telecommunications, facilities management, acquisitions, and/or contract negotiation/administration) at the federal, state, or local level, or in the private sector; AND one of the three administrative areas must have been:

If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.

If selected, you will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a one-year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless this requirement has been met previously.
