This position is located in the Performing Arts Division, Office of the Deputy Chairman for Programs and Partnerships, at the National Endowment for the Arts.

 

This is a TERM appointment for which all qualified applicants with or without Federal status may apply and be considered.  Appointments to this position, however, will not convey permanent status in the Federal service and will be for a period not to exceed 24 montths and may be extended up to a maximum of 4 years without further competition.

 

The selectee will be subject to a one-year trial period.

Salary Information:  GS-07: $42,209 - $54,875 per annum.

As the Division Specialist you will be responsible for the following tasks:

 

·         Assists Division Coordinator and Discipline Specialists with processing of grant applications, requests for proposals, preparation, assembly, and distribution of electronic panel book materials; as well as preparation and review of other materials required for the application review process.

 

·         Assists Division Coordinator and Discipline Specialists with preparation and processing of pre-screening and panelist approval and processing forms.

 

·         Directly furnishes requested information to callers or visitors when appropriate, particularly when answering inquiries about agency guidelines, processes, programs, and publications

 

·         Assists with logistical and technical support at in-person and virtual pre-panel orientations and panel meetings. 

 

·         Produces complex documents including multiple addressee correspondence, merge templates for transfer of large amounts of text between Excel and Microsoft Word, and statistical reports using the Microsoft Office Suite

GS-7 Minimum Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the (GS-05) This experience is defined as but not limited to: providing customer service to both internal and external customers dealing with the grants process; using excel to formulate and calculate statistics; preparing and maintaining records; drafting and assembling documents.

OR Superior Academic Achievement OR one academic year of Graduate level education OR a Combination of Education and Experience.

Education: Superior Academic Achievement OR one academic year of Graduate level education

Superior Academic Achievement: to qualify under the Superior Academic Achievement provision, you must have completed all requirements for a bachelor's degree, and meet one of the following:

1. Class standing- applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.

2. Grade-point-average (G.P.A.) Applicants must have a grade point average of:

a. 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or

b. 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.

3. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society.
