This announcement is being used to create an inventory of qualified applicants for IT Specialist (SA/AS) Systems Acceptability Tester and will be used to fill immediate and future vacancies. The following cut-off dates have been identified for order of consideration: 04/23, 05/22, 06/24, 07/24, 08/23, 09/23/2013. Eligible applicants will be considered as vacancies become available based on cut-off dates and date of application. Eligible CP and CPS compensable veterans will be considered with the first group of certified eligibles referred after applications are received. Applicants not meeting minimal qualification by any of the above cut off dates have the opportunity to submit updated information/documentation to support their eligibility at any time before the closing date of the announcement.

WHAT DOES AN IRS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST DO?
An Information Technology (IT) Specialist (System Analysis/ Applications Software) uses a wide variety of information, knowledge, and tools to address complex system analysis and applications software assignments each day. In this role, you will be involved in conducting systems analysis to design, document, develop, modify, test, install, implement, and support new or existing applications software products within the IRS. Many of these assignments may be broad (possibly national) in scope, and/or involve difficult and complex issues. As an IT Specialist, you are responsible for the development of components of national projects and eventually, may be called upon to lead significant projects assigned to your unit. The position requires (extensive-depending on the level of position) experience in enterprise-wide application solutions based on the business and users requirements
