This position is located in the Multidisciplinary Arts Division, Office of the Deputy Chairman for Programs & Partnerships, Washington, DC.

 

This is a TERM appointment for which all qualified applicants with or without Federal status may apply and be considered.  Appointments to this position, however, will NOT convey permanent status in the Federal service and will be for a period not-to-exceed 24 months and may be extended up to a maximum of 4 years without further competition. 

 

The selectee will be subject to a one-year trial period.

Salary Information:  GS-07: $42,209 - $54,875 per annum.

As the Administrative Assistant you will be responsible for the following tasks:

·       Assist the Division by responding to administrative directives, inquiries, and actions to ensure efficient and effective operations of the Division.

·       Prepare a  variety of narrative and statistical reports, using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

·       Serve as timekeeper for the Division, coordinating time and attendance functions with the Office of Human  Resources.

·       Communicate with constituents and the general public.  Receives telephone calls and correspondence for the Division and exercises independent judgment in referring matters to appropriate personnel.

·       Make travel arrangements for Division staff members, panelists, consultants, etc., including accommodations, reservations and preparation of pre-post-travel authorizations, vouchers and related reports.

To qualify for this position, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the (GS-06) performing duties such as: preparing a variety of narrative and statistical reports using Microsoft Word and Excel, maintaining digital files, making travel arrangements, scheduling and organizing meetings, serving as timekeeper for an office, and maintaining the office calendar. 

 

In addition to meeting the specialized experience, applicants must also be qualified typists able to type 40 or more words per minute. The typing speed must be documented in your resume in order to receive consideration.
