This position is located in the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Commandant of Cadets Division, New London, CT.

 

Duties


This role serves as the Head Coach and directs and oversees all aspects of the Shooting Sports programs, to include varsity Rifle and Pistol teams. 

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.  Typical work assignments include:

- Plans, directs, manages and promotes all firearm-related competitive programs.

- Develops and conducts specialized individual and team training programs to increase shooting performance and mental/physical skills.

- Maintains, operates and trains others on target and training systems such as the Mega-Link Target System and the SCATT Shooter Training System.

- Coordinates and manages all team practices and home competitions.

- Oversees and mentors part time and volunteer shooting sports coaches.

- Manages the CGA Shooting Sports program operational budget.

 

Must possess and maintain current certification as a USA Shooting Level I Rifle and Pistol Coach.
