The subject position is located in the Foreign Service Staffing Branch (FSS) Foreign Service Personnel Division (FSP), in the Office of Human Resources (OHR). The Foreign Service Staffing Branch is staffed by human resources specialists and assistants and is responsible for recruitment, management of vetting, selection, hiring, onboarding and separation of Foreign Service Personnel worldwide in order to ensure that the agency maintains a competent core workforce. FSS is also responsible for pre-employment processing, staffing (Foreign Service as well as Senior Management Group (SMG) assignments), long term training, and providing advice on classification and position management for all overseas posts.
The incumbent of this position serves as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist and is responsible for ensuring focused customer service is provided in a timely, strategic and pro-active manner.
