For GS-08: You must have at least one year of full time experience (equivalent to the GS-7 level in the federal service) performing a variety of assignments with direction from the engineer in charge or a senior technician including: performing equipment tests; compiling, computing, plotting, and checking a variety of data for construction projects (e.g., earthen dams, ag waste management systems, etc.); and using CADD to prepare sketches, drawings, diagrams and charts for excavation, embankment, structures, triangulation, profiles and traverses, etc., assisting field engineering staff in staking out work and to facilitate computation or quantities, For GS-09: You must have at least one year of full time experience (equivalent to the GS-8 level in the federal service) independently performing a substantial variety of complex projects including: performing tests on equipment; compiling, computing, plotting, and checking a full range of data for construction projects (earthen dams, ag waste management systems, filter strips, water and sediment control basins, rock riprap slope protections etc.); using advanced skills in CADD and standard techniques to prepare sketches, drawings, diagrams, charts and all other design work for a all phases of projects such as, excavation, embankment, structures, triangulation, profiles and traverses, etc; assisting field engineering staff in staking out work and to facilitate computation or quantities, duties likely would include providing technical oversight and training for other technical staff members,
have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field and have also completed a Masters degree or 36 semester hours of coursework leading to a Masters degree.

Although this is an Excepted Service selection your application will be evaluated and rated competitively under the Category Rating and Selection Procedures. Your resume must support your responses to the occupational questionnaire.
