The Office of Administrative Services (OAS) is looking for bright, energetic, and results-oriented individuals to join our fast-paced organization. OAS is a team of professionals who provide quality support services to Department of Commerce employees, enabling them to focus on their core missions. OAS specialties include building management, real and personal property management, travel management, and energy and environmental management.

The Incumbent of this position will serve as a key team member in the Immediate Office of the Director for Administrative Services and provide administrative support to the CFO/ASA, Director, Deputy Director and other Leadership.  The incumbent will perform administrative and program support work to management programs and functions in accordance with agency program objectives, identify required resources, measure quality of service, and devise actions to resolve problems.  Performs administrative assistance duties in support of and overlap the lower work of specialists and compiling data and reports.

To qualify at the ZS-5, you must have at least 1 year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-8 OR equivalent Pay Band)in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as screening visitors and telephone calls to the supervisor; reviewing non-technical correspondence prepared by others for proper attachments, signatures, and compliance with organizational policies; utilizing automated tracking system to ensure that assignments are completed by staff; procuring office services, supplies, and equipment; and utilizing a variety of office automation software and administrative procedures to coordinate office management services.
