This position is located in the Primary and Specialty Medicine Service.

The VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System is currently recruiting for a part-time Academic Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep medicine physician.  Excellent opportunity for a Board certified/board eligible candidate with commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and patient care. The position offers an excellent balance between work and family. Applicant must be board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified/eligible in pulmonary diseases, critical care medicine and sleep medicine.  Special skills in he use of Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) and other pulmonary interventional procedures would be desirable. 

  • The selected candidate will work a variable daytime hours work schedule.

Relocation expenses will not be authorized.

• Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
• Must be board certified or eligible. 

Preferred Experience
1. Background in ongoing outpatient primary care clinics.
2. Board certification in Internal Medicine/Family Medicine.
3. Experience with academic medical practice in a teaching hospital.
