Duties

The incumbent of this position serves as the Section Chief for the Counterespionage Section of  the National Security Division (NSD).  The Section Chief exercises full responsibility for carrying out all policy, programmatic, and managerial matters assigned or required to assure effective and efficient investigative-and intelligence-related oversight in the NSD’s Counterespionage Section.

This Section has the responsibility for enforcement of statutes relating to treason, sedition, espionage, and other activities including the criminal provisions of the Atomic Energy Act, the Trading with the Enemy Act, the Arms Export Control Act, the Export Administration Act and the administration of the Classified Information Procedures Act (CIPA).
