JOB SUMMARY:

ARKANSAS NATIONAL GUARD 

**Position based upon availability of funds, not to exceed completion of project or one year (whichever occurs first).   This appointment may be extended up to a maximum of one additional year for a total of two years upon approval of the Human Resources Office.

MILITARY GRADE REQUIREMENT:  Officer, Not to Exceed Capt/O-3, Enlisted, Not Less than MSgt/E-7

NOMINATING OFFICIAL:  Col Harold Eggensperger, Wing Commander

DUTY LOCATION:  189th Airlift Wing (AW), Arkansas Air National Guard (AR ANG), Little Rock Air Force Base (LRAFB), Arkansas 

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:  This is an Excepted (Dual Status Military Technician) position that requires active membership in a compatible skill in the Arkansas Air National Guard.  Selectee must be a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard and be assigned to the 189th AW in a compatible military position in Area of Concentration(AOC) 31PXX or 14NXX/ Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) 31XX or 1NXXX.  Must become compatible in the AFSC within 12 months of appointment.  Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Serves as the Wing Information Protection Program Manager executing/enforcing all operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of the program.  Makes information protection risk assessments and risk management/mitigation strategies/recommendations based on intelligence-derived threat issues that may require deviations from or synthesis of policies.  Delivers, Security Awareness and Education Programs to satisfy security education and training requirements for all assigned organizations.  Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.  Performs other duties as assigned.

SPECIALIZED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training in planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling base and law enforcement activities.

PLACEMENT FACTORS: Applicants should demonstrate through prior experience, education and training the following: (1)Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review,independently analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems.  (2) Knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships, and proficiency in information, personnel, and industrial security.  (3) Knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information to review plans for proposed or new projects, organizations.  (4) Ability to plan and carry out reviews of unit and/or contractor security programs, analyze and evaluate reports and conditions to recommend remedial actions.  (5) Completion of appropriate technical school/Career Development Courses (CDCs).

OTHER INFORMATION:

This position with the Arkansas National Guard is a Title 32 USC 709 position, not Title 5, and as such has different Reduction In Force (RIF) criteria, certain grade and promotion limitations, and no Veterans Preference.  Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer of Civilian Pay is required as a condition of employment/promotion/reassignment.  Initial in-processing of new employees will include enrollment procedures.  Permanent Change of Station (PCS) may be authorized in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
