Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
· Use of medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology in order to analyze medical referrals (over the phone or in person).
· Use of a variety of computer software programs including word processing, desktop publishing, database management, spreadsheet and electronic communications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite), as well as automated health care programs such as Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA).
· Applying customer service principles and techniques in dealing with difficult consumers and must communicate instructions and directions clearly, in person and in writing.
· Applying Department of Defense policies and regulations governing eligibility for treatment in a military treatment facility or civilian network.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: 4 years above high school. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to meet the total qualification requirements.
Typing Requirement: This position has a typing requirement: you must be able to type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. This requirement must be verifiable via your resume.
