The SEC's mission is to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation. The agency seeks high-caliber professionals who share the same values of integrity, fairness, accountability, resourcefulness, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.

The Summer Honors College Program is an internship program that introduces undergraduate students pursuing degrees in such areas as information technology,  information security, computer science, or other related areas to the regulation of the securities markets and the work of the Commission.  This program will offer students from schools across the country the opportunity to work within the Commission's Office of Information Technology (OIT or Office) in the Washington, DC, Headquarters office.   The OIT supports the Commission and staff of the SEC in all aspects of information technology (IT).  Specifically, the Office has overall management responsibility for the Commission's IT program including application development, infrastructure operations and engineering, user support, IT program/project management, capital planning, security, and enterprise architecture. The Office also operates the Electronic Data Gathering Analysis and Retrieval (EDGAR) system, which electronically receives, processes, and disseminates more than 500,000 financial statements every year.

This exciting opportunity will offer students the opportunity to spend ten-weeks working side-by-side with agency staff on a variety of interesting projects.   We ask that our interns commit 40-hours per week for 10 weeks.
