Perm Internal Air Force Employees Only-

 

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).  The GG-13 duties for the "Supervision" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level.  The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

MAJOR DUTIES for SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST, GG-1910-13

 

-Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of AFLCMC/HNC, ensuring that CPSD complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.

 

-Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities and advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.

 

-Represents the Quality Assurance section with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

 

-Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with all customers.

-Supports all management policies and procedures, including working overtime when required to meet workload requirements.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS.  This position is in the Excepted Service.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience at the next lower qualifying pay band or equivalent grade under the General Schedule (GS/GG) pay system or other pay systems.  To be creditable, your resume must further reflect specialized experience, demonstrating quality in the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies to meet the requirements of this position. Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas. Examples include:

-Reviewing production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements.

  • -Reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans.
  • -Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system.
  • -Verifying by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance.
  • -Identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective action.
  • -Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods.
  • -Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities.
  • -Reading, interpreting, and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals.
  • -Reviewing and evaluating supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):  Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 

1. Knowledge of quality assurance principles, practices, and procedures.

2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.

4. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to meet program requirements and objective within available resources.

5. Knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information.

6. Knowledge of manufacturing and repair processes performed in the Maintenance Branches.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.  You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

1. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

2. Employee must be able to acquire and retain a Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access in order to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Employee must pass initial and continued periodic short notice drug testing.

3. Unexpected overtime may be required occasionally.

4. This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available.

5. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
