MISSISSIPPI NATIONAL GUARD

 

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:  This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.  Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.  Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.  Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

 

MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to a compatible position as required by TPR 303. Although conditions of employment, such as grade/rank restrictions, medical, technician compatibility, etc., are not used to determine an applicant’s eligibility to apply for a position, the applicant must meet the conditions prior to appointment in the position. The compatibility requirements for this position are:

 

 

Military Appointment & DAOC/DMOS/DAFSC:  Army Officer - BR 42B, 42H, 60D or 67A; AOC 70A, 70B, 70H or 73A

                                                                            Air Officer - 37FX, 41AX or 44UX

                                                                            Warrant - MOS 420A

                                                                            Army Enlisted - MOS 42A, 68W or 68Z

                                                                            Air Enlisted - 3S0X1, 3S1X1, 3S2X1 or $E0X1

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  The purpose of this position is to manage and implement the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program and Domestic Abuse/Violence Program. Provides guidance and advice to the Adjutant General (TAG), senior commanders, and managers regarding statutory requirements . This position has direct access to the TAG with advisory responsibility regarding sexual assault and domestic abuse/violence incidents. Serves as the principal point of contact regarding SARC programs and is charged with collaborating with various state and national government agencies for outreach, policy, training, supportand research. Performs long-term planning and organizational development necessary to accomplish human resources functions in support of education, training, and responses for the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program and Domestic Abuse/Violence Program.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:  Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 

 

GS-09 –Must have at least 24 months experience, education or training in any position that required compiling reports, letters,memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures. 

 

GS-11–Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: Selected individual must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for this position and/or the compatible military position.

MEDICAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: A pre-placement physical examination may be required for this position. Selected individual must maintain any medical/physical standards for this position and/or the compatible military position.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:  Completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D, or possession of a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in social work, human resources or other appropriate fields from an accredited college or university may substitute for the specialized experience provided it demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position for GS-11. Only graduate-level education beyond the first two years is creditable. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study or the successful completion of a full 4 year course in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree for GS-09.

 

NOTE:  Copies of transcripts, certificate of training, etc., must be submitted in application package for substitution to be considered. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

PARTICIPATION IN DIRECT DEPOSIT IS MANDATORY.

PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION EXPENSES:  NO PCS WILL BE AUTHORIZED.
