Location:  These positions are located in SBA's Office of Capital Access, Office of Financial Program Operations, National Disaster Loan Resolution Center, located in Birmingham, Alabama..

Travel and Relocation : Travel and relocation expenses will not  be paid.   (Any travel transportation and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the responsibility of the selected Candidates.)

    You will assist Loan Specialists in carrying out some of the more progressive and complicated actions involved in servicing direct loans and assists the Loan Specialists in servicing a portfolio of disaster loans and analyze financial statements of SBA disaster loans which are, or could be considered potential problems; compare present with previous statements to determine trends in financial conditions and compliance with loan terms and conditions; and answer verbal & written requests from banks, borrowers and other financial institutions.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  GS-07:  One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service ) obtained in either the private or public sector such as performing reviews for financial institutions and/or a variety of financing enterprises to assist in the processing, servicing and/or collection of commercial/business loans, including knowledge and experience with ascertaining the completeness and appropriateness of a requested action/change to the loan.

    TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled.

    Education cannot be substituted for experience for this position.

    1  Ability to perform a variety of servicing, collection and liquidation clerical duties such as data entry, preparing correspondence, filing, and researching and retrieving loan information.

    4  Ability to communicate in writing.

    Candidates eligible for veterans' preference will be placed ahead of other candidates in the appropriate category for which they have been rated.  Additionally, preference eligibles who have a compensable service-connected disability of at least 10 percent and who meet Minimum Qualification Requirements will automatically be placed in the Best Qualified Category.

    Merit Promotion and Non-competitive applicants will  not be evaluated using Category Rating.  Applicants meeting basic requirements will further be evaluated on the information provided in the occupational questionnaire.
