NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatibility assignment in the National Guard. The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position:  A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.

 

 

MAJOR DUTIES:  Performs maintenance, inspects, modifies, tests, services, troubleshoots, isolates malfunctions, and repairs the aircraft electrical/environmental systems and other aircraft systems.  Provides technical advice and troubleshooting expertise to other work centers as needed when Electra or environmental systems affect the aircraft systems such as radar, weapons release, navigation, communication, instruments, flight controls, pneudrualics, fuel or other system/subsystems.  Provides on-the-job training to lower graded personnel or to newly assigned personnel regardless to grade.  Requisitions, processes, and accounts for supply assets as required by the repairable processing system.  Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations and ensures that material and equipment are properly stored, protected, maintained and secure.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  APPLICANT MUST PROVIDE A COPY OF A CURRENT VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which has provided a knowledge and skill in locating and typing in the electrical systems with the aircraft armament, electronics, and instrument systems; adjusting and calibrating the components of the various electrical systems; reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.

 

Please address the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's) in your resume:  Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated on the following KSAs considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Must have 18 months of experience or training installing, maintaining, repairing and modifying electrical systems and major substation components of electrical system.

KNOWLEDGE of the aircraft electrical/environmental systems and other aircraft system that may interface with the electrical/environmental systems.

ABILITY to use precision test equipment, schematics, technical data, schematic, wiring diagrams, and mathematical formulas.

ABILITY to make electrical repairs that require the use of precision measuring equipment and common hand tools.

ABILITY to diagnose malfunctions and determine a remedy when complex relationships exist among different electrical system circuits requiring knowledge of all electrical units and systems.

KNOWLEDGE in the setup and operation of computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment in manual, semiautomatic, or automatic mode to run existing and new (not fully debugged) diagnostics programs to test and analyze electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling or systems such as navigational computers, radar, and related equipment to repair discrepancies.

ANG/AIR FORCE:  Current Records Review Record (RIP); ARNG/Army:  Current Personal Qualifications Report (PQR); other branches of military service equivalent military personal information that will provide current military rank, ASVAB Scores, clearance level etc.

This position requires a Secret Clearance, if applicant is not a member of the Air Force, ANG or Air Force Reserve, must provide military documentation to prove they hold at least a secret clearance.

 

It is  the applicant's responsibility to ensure the RIP/PQR is current.  If the applicant has been promoted and the RIP/PQR does not reflect the new rank then the applicant must provide an order or other military documentation with their resume reflecting the new rank and date of rank.
