A degree in dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science, where the curriculum was in accordance with the qualifying requirements established by The American Dietetic Association (ADA) in effect at the time of graduation.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Government. Examples of qualifying experience include: providing nutritional care for inpatients or outpatients of a hospital; participating with health teams on clinical rounds; recording findings and plans in the medical record; advising and informing the health team of the patients diet and progress; interviewing newly admitted patients to obtain pertinent background information and diet history which influence food preferences and preparation; developing nutritional care plans based on a physicians diet prescription, the patients medical records, and information obtained during an interview; and instructing patients and families concerning a diet plan.
Have at least 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a directly related field.
Have a combination of post-baccalaureate education and experience in a directly related field that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
In order to meet minimum qualification requirements you must demonstrate possession of the selective factor of this position. Selective factor includes: possession of an active, current registration as a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
