Qualifying experience for Pay Band 2d includes one year of specialized experience comparable to the Pay Band 3a or GS-15 or an equivalent level, which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, examples of specialized experience are: experience in the development, dissemination, revision and archiving of economic analysis (e.g., cost-benefit analyses, beneficiary analyses, etc.); experience applying complex economic principles, theories, concepts, methods, and techniques to issues of economic development with important economic policy implications; experience managing programs or projects that involve working in developing countries on developing country issues and providing sophisticated and authoritative economic guidance and analysis; and experience representing an organization in internal and external forums. (NOTE: This experience MUST be well documented on your resume or application).
This position also has a minimum education requirement.
You must have a degree in economics that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
A combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (particularly positions with a positive education requirement.)
