·        Provide support and guidance to management regarding Department of Defense (DoD), DISA, and host service facilities policies and regulations.

·        Plan, Schedule, analyze, execute, and evaluate facilities engineering/facilities management programs, operations, maintenance, repair, and construction.

·        Provide analysis of facility infrastructure systems, develop recommendations, and propose changes to regulations or other courses of action based on analysis.

·        Interpret and implement existing policy and regulatory guidance.

·        Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) or equivalent to develop, evaluate, and implement immediate and long-range goals, objectives, plans, and schedules to meet substantial changes in program authority and/or funding.

·        Coordinate reviews of facilities and engineering projects involving repair, construction and preventative maintenance.

·        Coordinate projects regarding construction, maintenance, and repair of structures, mechanical and electrical systems. Ensure projects are administered properly and receive adequate quality assurance surveillance.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.  

 

Specialized experience is defined as experience with an always-on, 24 hours, 7days a week, Data Center with emphasis on electrical support systems to include uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and generators, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and other special environmental systems.  Specialized experience is also defined as experience in planning, coordinating, evaluating, and leading construction projects, infrastructure operations, and preventative and emergency maintenance activities, as well as,  experience acting as liaison with different agencies, customers and vendors.

 


Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

Your application will be evaluated and rated under the Category Rating and Selection Procedures. 1. Qualified Category. Meets the minimum qualifications and demonstrates minimum experience and/or training only based on responses to occupational questionnaire.

2. Highly Qualified Category. Meets the minimum qualification requirements and demonstrates full-performance level experience based on responses to occupational questionnaire.

3. Best Qualified Category. Meets the minimum qualification requirements and demonstrates experience as an expert in the field or recognized as a senior specialist, team lead, etc.

Application of Veterans Preference: The Category Rating Method does not add veterans' preference points or apply the "rule of three," but protects the rights of veterans by placing them ahead of non-preference eligibles within each category. Preference eligible's who meet minimum qualification requirements and who have a compensable service-connected disability of at least 10 percent must be listed in the highest quality category, except when the position being filled is scientific or professional at the GS-9 grade level or higher. A selecting official may make selections from the highest quality category (Best Qualified) provided no preference eligible in that category is passed over to select a non-preference eligible in that category unless the requirements of 5 U.S.C. 3317(b) or 3318(b) are satisfied.

  • Skill to manage multiple tasks, plan, and organize work.

    WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT:
