Inpatient responsibilities to include interpretation of exams performed in general diagnostic radiology, diagnostic computed tomography, and diagnostic ultrasound for diagnosis of patients.  Evaluates and performs fluroscopic diagnostic exams and interpretation of minimally invasive diagnostic radiological procedures.  These include fluoroscopy, digital radiography, computed tomography, and ultra-sonography.

 

Also includes, coordinate patient care by effective communication with Primary Care practitioners at local and remote locations; active participant in resident noon lectures, morning reports, including case presentations and other educational topics.

 

The Amarillo VA Health Care System currently offers general medical and surgical inpatient care, day surgery, long term care, primary and specialty care, mental health services, and substance abuse treatment to a population of 79,000 veterans in a primary service area that includes 52 counties in the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle, eastern New Mexico, and southeast Kansas.

·         U.S. Citizenship 

·         Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.

·         Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

  •             Must be board certified/eligible with the American Board of Radiology.
