US Army Veterinary Services operates as a subsidiary of Public Health Command. Their mission is to provide military veterinary services in support of United States Army Medical Command and Department of Defense missions. The civilian function of the Veterinary Services is a supplemental mission which exists to assist soldiers and their families in the field of animal health and care.
This is a Flex 00 position at the Newport Vet Clinic. 1 doctor practice that provides wellness exams, vaccination appointments, and minor sick call. No surgeries are performed at this clinic. The clinic is reopening after over one year of only providing once per month walk-in clinic days, so there is great opportunity to be a creative, proactive team member as we begin rebuilding. Seeking energetic, hardworking, self- starter who is prepared to hit the ground running to turn this clinic into a profitable business. Must have excellent client communication skills, be punctual and reliable, and yet flexible and willing to adjust to potential schedule fluctuations during the initial reopening phase. Duties include: perform physical exams, administer vaccines, draw blood, restrain animals, prepare blood/urine/feces/ear swabs for in-house examination or outside laboratory, deliver lab samples for pick-up. The clinic is recently renovated with 3 exam rooms and a large pharmacy/laboratory area, located directly on the water at Naval Station Newport.
