Position Details: One Permanent Full-Time Clinical Director position to be filled at Whiteriver Service Unit, Whiteriver, Arizona.

Alternative Work Schedule: Yes, may be required to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays to provide continuity of patient care.

Salary Range: $175,000.00 - $225,000.00 Per Annum

Supervisory/Managerial: Yes, you may be required to serve one year Supervisory probationary period.

Relocation Expenses Paid: Yes, relocation expenses are authorized and will be paid.  You will be required to sign a one year service agreement; failure to fulfill the one year service agreement may result in repayment of relocation expense.

Housing: Government quarters may be available; otherwise private housing only.

  • Active in the planning and implementation of all urgent and non-emergent ambulatory services, all inpatient services, and all obstetrical and surgical services.  Responsibilities include working closely with nursing and other departments to assure that the maximum level of efficiency and the highest quality of care are achieved in these services.
  • The incumbent shall assume personnel supervisory authority over all physicians, podiatrists, optometrist, dentists, advanced practice nurses and physician's assistants.  Supervisory authority pertains to Civil Service, Commissioned Corps, and contract providers.
  • Will maintain updated credential files for all staff in accordance with Whiteriver Service Unit (WRSU) medical staff by laws and responsible for ensuring compliance for the medical staff with all regulatory agencies including Joint Commission (JC), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), College of American Pathologists (CAP), AZ Prenatal Trust and appropriate IHS/HHS regulatory requirements.
  • Will serve as the principal liaison to external parties such as Summit Regional Medical Center, the Navajo County Health Department, the Arizona Department of Health Services and any other private or government health organization whose activities impact WRSU patients.
  • Works closely with allied health professionals to utilize and coordinate the services of other health care professionals in the management of the patient's medical, psychological and social problems.

    GS-15: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level serving as program and administrative management of a large multi-complex medical center.  Supervisory management of clinical service staff.  Experience in providing comprehensive and continuing health and medical services for patients.  Organize and maintain medical services and committee activities as required by the service unit by laws and for facility accreditation requirement.  Medical service participation in decisions that cut across other hospital program management of clinical, ancillary services, community health and administrative activities.  This responsibility includes an implicit charge to identify health care needs of patient population served, and within available resources, to plan, develop and implement a comprehensive health care delivery system tailored to these needs.

    EDUCATION: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant's graduation.  (A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).

    NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable.
