This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Director (OAD), Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR). The Directorate serves as the focal point for NSF as the lead federal agency providing funding for research and development in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. EHR is composed of the Division of Graduate Education, the Division of Research on Learning in Formal and Informal Settings, the Division of Undergraduate Education, and the Division of Human Resource Development.

The Office of the Assistant Director (OAD), Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR) is seeking a Directorate Administrative Coordinator.  Specific duties include the following: Participates with the Directorate Operations Officer and senior EHR officials to ensure that Directorate human resources, budget execution, strategic operations planning, and resource short and long-term strategies are developed, implemented, and monitored for multiple categories of operations management; analyze and project EHR human capital utilization; monitor the EHR workforce Full Time Equivalents (FTEs); and provide consultation and analysis to all EHR Divisions regarding resource needs, utilization, and projections. The Directorate Administrative Coordinator will participate in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures related to resource allocation and usage including space, acquisitions, travel, execution of the EHR operating budget, and staffing plans; coordinate Directorate human resource performance management activities; develop analytical, financial, human capital and other related studies on crosscutting issues which affect the entire directorate or require independent assessment in the judgment of senior management; and serve as subject matter expert on Federal travel regulations and procedures.  The Directorate Administrative Coordinator will identify and provide guidance on operating processes and administrative systems, establish target dates, develop supporting materials, and assist in the resolution of complex operating issues.

To qualify at GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal Service. Examples include: knowledge of agency level programs & guidelines in order to work with principal staff responsible for establishing policy, procedures & practices; skill in planning, developing & implementing strategic plans; mastery of qualitative/quantitative analysis of input from reports or committees; skill in oral & written communication.


Education may enhance skills required for this position; however, no substitution of education for specialized experience may be made at this level.
