DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is located in the UTES of the Kentucky Army National Guard. The purpose of the position is to supervise workers, directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or supervisor, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work. Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Assigns tasks to be performed. Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies. Performs the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed. Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluation, inspection, mobilization and command support exercises. Incumbent may be required to prepare for and support the mission through the accomplishment of duties pertaining to military training, military readiness, force protection and other mission related assignments including, but not limited to, training of traditional Guard members, CWDE/NBC training, exercise participation (ORE/ORI/UCI/MEI/OCI/IG, etc.), mobility exercise participation, FSTA/ATSO exercise participation, SABC training, LOAC training, weapons qualification training, participation in military formations, and medical mobility processing within the guidelines of NGB/ARNG/ANG/State/TAG rules, regulations and laws. Performs other duties as assigned. GENERAL KNOWLEDGE Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Do you possess 36 months experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel.  Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines.  Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function.  Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.  Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations?

e. Ability to oversee and train subordinate supervisors, to deal objectively with workers, and render sound supervisory decisions.


OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR THIS POSITION: SELECTEE WILL BE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DIRECT DEPOSIT/ELECTRONIC FUND TRANSFER PROGRAM. THIS POSITION REQUIRES A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL PRIOR TO PLACEMENT. MUST POSESS A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE FOR THE STATE IN WHICH THEY LIVE OR ARE PRINCIPALLY EMPLOYED.
