This position is located in a Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of the Regional Food and Drug Director, Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA), Philadelphia District Office located in Philadelphia, PA.

The FDA's Office of Regulatory Affairs is the lead office for all FDA Field activities as well as providing FDA leadership on imports, inspections, and enforcement policy.  ORA supports FDA Product Centers by inspecting regulated products and manufacturers, conducting sample analysis on regulated products, and reviewing imported products offered for entry into the United States.  ORA also develops FDA-wide policy on compliance and enforcement.

Incumbent is responsible for providing staff support in a variety of administrative management services to an Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) field office with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Utilizes government credit card to purchase office supplies, furniture, equipment, and services.  Manages fleet vehicles; keeps accurate records of inventory, maintenance, and servicing provided.   Conducts analyses of clerical and administrative procedures and program support issues; evaluates the effectiveness of clerical and administrative operations; makes recommendations to improve office operations.  Performs lead timekeeper duties; ensures time sheets are properly entered into system; provides training and assistance to other timekeepers. Serves as training coordinator. Manages mail room operations; screens, sorts and distributes all mail received at the field office.  Develops policies and procedures for local records management program; conducts periodic records reviews.

For the GS-07 grade level:

 

A. Have a bachelor's degree and meet Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) criteria. S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. (Transcripts Required)

 

Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.

 

Grade-point average (G.P.A.) -- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.

 

Note: Grade-point averages are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9.

B. Have one full year of graduate level study, or possess a master's or higher degree in a related field of study from an accredited college and/or university. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours will satisfy the one year of full-time study requirement.

OR

C. Have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify and resolve administrative issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature.

OR

D. Have less than the full amount of graduate education described in "B" and less than the amount of experience described in "C," but I have a combination of the type of education described in "B" and the type of experience described in "C." To combine education and experience, determine the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.
