This position is that of a Network/System Administrator located at the Naval Health Clinic, Annapolis, MD.  The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a system administrator, network administration and technical expert for high-level projects covering a wide range of technical, network design, and connectivity issues.

As an Information Technology Specialist (Sysadmin/Network), your duties will include, but are not limited to:

·         Assisting in the development and/or maintenance of an IT environment to ensure data security of classified and/or sensitive data is protected.

·         Ensuring corrective actions are taken to restore operational services.

·         Ensuring backup procedures are in place for recovery from loss and/or destruction of data and/or program files.

·         Coordinating updates and/or problem resolutions for network connectivity issues.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet the following qualification requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: 

 

GS-11: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-09) in the Federal service or equivalent public or private sector with experience ensuring data security of classified and/or sensitive data are protected; installing appropriate computer security patches; and coordinating updates and/or problem resolutions for network connectivity issues.

 

Quality Ranking Factor: Do you currently have a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Authorization Professional (CAP), GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC) or a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)?

 

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.  You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

REQUIREMENTS: 

A security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal.  If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

The work requires visits to user activities periodically.  These visits can involve travel to branch clinics in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Periodically required to install and remove system equipment weighting up to 60 pounds.  Assistance in lifting heavy items will generally be available. 

May be required to climb ladders to install, inspect, and remove equipment and cabling.

May be required to bend down under desks to inspect installations.
