The Ex-Im Bank is the
official export credit agency of the United States. Ex-Im Bank's
mission is to help to maintain and create U.S. jobs by supporting the
financing of exports of U.S. goods and services to international
markets. Ex-Im Bank enables U.S. companies, large and small, to turn
export opportunities into real sales.
This position is a Program Management Assistant, in the Office of Congressional Affairs (OCA). OCA is responsible for the Bank's strategic planning regarding, and implementation of relations with, Congress. This includes taking the lead role in securing yearly appropriations, reauthorizations, and Senate approval of nominees for the Board of Directors. OCA is responsible for the drafting of replies to congressional correspondence, arranging meetings between Ex-lm staff and Members of Congress and congressional staff, and drafting congressional testimony. OCA also maintains a liaison function with exporter interest groups.

As a Program Support Assistant you will perform a wide range of administrative and secretarial functions in order to support the operations for the Division. This position is designed to provide both: (A) technical skills necessary to respond to written and oral congressional inquiries on Ex-lm Bank programs, policies and activity levels; and (B) organizational/administrative skills to ensure an orderly work environment for the day-to-day needs of the division. Such duties include but are not limited to: reviewing incoming correspondence, announcements and other mail; typing letters; maintaining Senior Vice President and Vice President of Congressional Affairs calendar and scheduling meetings; receiving telephone calls and visitors; proofreading and editing a wide variety of documents and correspondence; overseeing Division record keeping and file maintenance; preparing time and attendance records electronically; maintaining tracking systems for handling action items and controlled correspondence; preparing travel authorizations and vouchers; provide support, for and other duties as assigned.

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate that you have specialized experience required.
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience in private industry, public service, non-profit or volunteer work that has provided the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS- level in the Federal Government.
Specialized experience may include: Managing and/or performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of an office; experience using a variety of office automation software to prepare documents, reports, spreadsheets, and graphic presentations; receiving calls and visitors; maintaining calendars and scheduling meetings for Senior Management; and preparing travel authorizations and vouchers.
