THIS IS a permanent POSITION

This position is located within a National Guard aircraft maintenance organization. Its purpose is to perform either on- or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, and inertial and radar navigation systems.

GENERAL:  Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions in one or more complex integrated systems where knowledge of the entire system is necessary to interpret error data and trace back through a number of units of the system to locate deficiencies. Thorough knowledge of principles of digital and analog circuits, electro-mechanical devices, solid state devices, digital techniques, synchro/servo operation and integrated circuit theory. Ability to interpret and trace schematics, logic and wiring diagrams and use a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).  

 

Electronics Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12: Must  have 18 months experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic integrated systems equipment.  Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic integrated systems equipment.  Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment.  Experience in using a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).   Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications. 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: The following knowledge's, skills, and abilities will be used by the selecting officials to determine the best qualified applicants from which selection will be made:

 

1.  Knowledge of theory of electronics.

2.  Knowledge of algebra and basic trigonometric functions.

3.  Knowledge of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

4.  Ability to locate and diagnose malfunctions in integrated electronic systems.

5.  Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.

6.  Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring equipment.

7.  Skill in the use if diagnostic and testing equipment.


**CREDITING EXPERIENCE:  NATIONAL GUARD SERVICE MAY BE CREDITED AS FULL-TIME EXPERIENCE WHEN EVALUATED AGAINST THE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR A MILITARY TECHNICIAN POSITION.  EXPERIENCE MUST BE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE POSITION AND MUST BE DESCRIBED IN THE WORK EXPERIENCE SECTION OF THE APPLICATION AND/OR résumé. THE LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE IS DETERMINED BY THE ACTUAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES PERFORMED.  BE DESCRIPTIVE, A SIMPLE LIST OF JOB TITLES AND DATES WILL NOT SUFFICE.
