MAJOR DUTIES:

 

  • Serves as a member of the professional medical staff and complies with hospital plans and policies to meet accrediting agency requirements
  • Provides specialized medical care concerned with the physical, emotional, and social health of Military Treatment Facility beneficiaries
  • Serves as a psychiatric physician performing evidence-based diagnostic and treatment procedures involving a full range of psychiatric cases from those where the patients have common psychiatric conditions to the very difficult or rare, with very little or no technical guidance in the specialty

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-13) or equivalent.  Specialized experience must include experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization and as described in the MAJOR DUTIES section.
