This position is assigned to the Deputy Administrator for Compliance, Eastern Region Compliance Office, located in Raleigh, NC.

As a Compliance Manager, the selectee:

  • Directs the review and evaluation of reinsured company and agency sales and service contractor operations and activities;
  • Ensures compliance and uniformity in sales and loss adjustment policies, underwriting, procedures, training, and quality control methods;
  • Oversight for all service and operational program facts of the crop insurance program as mandated by the Federal Crop Insurance Act within assigned region;
  • Responsible for issuing Initial Findings and Final Determination Reports to the applicable company, contractor, or State and County FSA office involving cases of noncompliance with claim payments, acreage reports, underwriting, and application determinations to initiate corrective action.

Applicants must meet all qualification requirements by Wednesday, March 06, 2013.

You may start at the GS-14 level if you have the following qualifications:

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must have been gained by overseeing and managing complex investigative assignments for government subsidized agricultural insurance or reinsurance programs.

Supervisory Probationary Period: Section 303 of the Civil Service Reform Act (Public Law 95-454) established a probationary period of one year for newly appointed managers and supervisors.


THE SUBSTITUTION FOR EDUCATION IS NOT QUALIFYING AT THE GS-14 LEVEL.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS:   Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the time-in-grade restriction.

 

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION AND FINGERPRINT CHECK: Selection and retention in this position is contingent on a successfully adjudicated FBI National Criminal History Check (fingerprint check) and a background investigation.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
