The Open Continuous Announcement (OCA) allows acceptance of applicants throughout the year with eligible applicants being placed on the OCA register and referred for consideration as vacancies occur. The first Cut-Off date for receipt/referral of applications to be considered for available vacant positions will be 03/14/2013. Other Cut-Off dates will be established based on the date requests for List of Eligibles are received to fill other vacancies. Appointment may be Permanent, Temporary, Excepted Temporary, Excepted Time-Limited, or TERM with tour of duty of Full-Time, Part-Time, or Intermittent. The Agency has the option of extending Time-Limited or TERM appointments up to a maximum of four (4) years. Temporary positions not-to-exceed (NTE) 12 months or less are subject to termination at any time. The Agency has the option of extending Temporary position appointments up to a maximum of two (2) years.

The Medical Officer provides consultative and/or direct medical services specializing in family practice medicine to both inpatients and outpatients in a hospital. Provides direct care/services to neo-natal, pediatric, geriatric, adolescent and adult patients. Provides consultative and/or direct outpatient services at field health facilities as assigned. Serves on appropriate hospital committees as directed. Supervises ancillary hospital and field personnel when actually providing direct patient care. Has a high degree of freedom for inpatient care within established guidelines, policies and concepts of good medical practice.

Salary range: $104,458.00 - $129,865.00 (Annually)
Other additional compensation for which a physician may be eligible, in addition to their base salary, are a Recruitment and Relocation Incentive (maximum of 25% of base pay); Initial or Revewal of Retention Allowance (maximum of 25% of base pay when necessary); Physicians' Comparability Allowance; Market Pay; and an Appointment-Above-the-Minimum.
