- Plans, implements, and coordinates all domestic and foreign property, transportation of freight, technical equipment, personal weapons, hazardous material, and evidence from assign locations to FBIHQ division and to all Field Offices, Resident Agencies, Law Enforcement communities and private citizens in any location in the world.

 

- Prepares Government Bill of Lading for shipments.

 

- Operates various gasoline and diesel powered vehicles used to transport personal property, supplies, bulk cargo, hazardous materials, infectious materials, weapons, ammunition, employees and staff.  Some of the vehicles may have a gross vehicle weight of 26,000 pounds and are capable of carrying a load of one to five tons.

 

- Coordinates the work of co-workers in order to furnish necessary instructions in accomplishing the various tasks involved in material/mail handling.

 

- Ensures that vendors perform in accordance to Bureau regulation standards.

Qualifications for WG 7:  Applicant must have experience in warehousing operations: general layout of established storage locations; shipping and receiving; skilled in manually stacking, arranging and rotating items according to height, width and weight instructions; skilled in using various hand tools and have experience driving a variety of motor vehicles (e.g. panel trucks, and forklifts).


Education can not be substituted for experience in this vacancy.

Physical Effort:  Performs duties on hard surfaces while walking, standing, bending, stooping and lifting.  Frequently lifts and carries items weighing over 40 pounds.  Required to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time. Heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.  Moderate physical effort is also required while operating vehicle, which includes moving hands, arms, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls of vehicles.

 

Working Conditions:  Work is done inside or outside that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted.  Incumbent may be exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas.  Incumbent may also be exposed to radiation, toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes while working in hazardous material areas.  Work may require protective clothing such as hard hats, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and rubber aprons.

Policy has been implemented wherein support employees entering a position through a competitive OR non-competitive action may be precluded from moving to another position within the Bureau by means of reassignment or change to a lower grade for a minimum of 12 months.  This policy does not apply to probationary employees. Probationary employees are generally precluded from being considered for all job opportunities until their 12-month probationary period has concluded.

A Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) is a 90-day written developmental plan for an employee whose performance on one or more critical elements is rated "Unacceptable".

All selectees, with the exception of current FBI employees, will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

Generally, following a COST TRANSFER you will be eligible for transfer after completing three years in the assignment.  Additionally, NO COST TRANSFER require a one-year assignment commitment to be eligible for further FBI transfers.

Relocation expenses will be borne by the selectee, except FBI employees returning from Legat assignment.
