The incumbent serves as senior privacy officer for the OPM Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Information Officer and is responsible for ensuring that the Privacy Act and Government privacy requirements related to OPM information systems, applications, websites, new technology and paper records are implemented.

·         Identify, develop, implement and maintain OPM agency-wide privacy policies.  

·         Develop and oversee initiatives to assess privacy risks in OPM information technology systems, websites, and new technology.

·         Provide oversight and review of Computer Matching Agreements in compliance with the Privacy Act.

·         Develop requirements for complying with Federal privacy policy and legislation and monitor various programs to ensure compliance. 

·         Oversee and direct the development of specific privacy act training and orientation tools and resources for OPM employees at all levels.

Specialized Experience:  Applicants must have one year of experience at the GS-13 grade level (or equivalent) that demonstrates the following:


·         Knowledge and experience working with statutory, regulatory and other legal requirements for privacy policy as it relates to information resource management and information lifecycle.

·         Develop privacy policies, programs, and procedures related to the Privacy Act and E-Government privacy provisions.

·         Analyze computer and IT systems to identify privacy protections and ensure privacy program effectiveness.




Selective Placement Factor:  In addition to the specialized experience reflected above, applicants must have the following:


·         Experience assessing Privacy Act for information technology (IT) systems.

·         Oral Communication
