To qualify for this GS-14 Telecommunications Manager Position, you must possess the following: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector). This experience must include activities such as: 1) participating in forums and/or workgroups to promote awareness of program requirements in the emergency communications field; 2) providing authoritative expert advice, guidance, and assistance in emergency communication and interoperability matters related to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology; 3) conducting long-term planning on telecommunication programs; and 4) developing telecommunication policies and programs. Time-in-Grade Requirements: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade in the Federal service. All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
New employees must serve a one year probationary period.

Essential Personnel: This position may be designated as essential personnel.
